Statement on the Supreme Court’s Ruling in City of Grants Pass, Oregon v. Johnson SCOTUS has struck down City of Grants Pass, Oregon v. Johnson, meaning that people experiencing homelessness CAN be arrested for sleeping in a public place where there are no adequate shelter options provided locally. NORTH CAROLINA COALITION TO END HOMELESSNESS RECEIVES GENEROUS GRANT FROM OAK FOUNDATION NCCEH recently received a $250,000 grant from Oak Foundation. This grant will allow NCCEH to continue to support our homeless population. |

NCCEH Hires A New Executive Director Ryan Fehrman has been named Executive Director of the North Carolina Coalition to End Homelessness. Fehrman will begin his duties in August with NCCEH. Fehrman worked for more than 20 years in the non-profit sector. He most recently served as Executive Director at Families Moving Forward for the past 19 years.

NCCEH Announces Executive Director ResignationOur Executive Director, Denise Neunaber, will be leaving the North Carolina Coalition to End Homelessness (NCCEH) at the beginning of April. Denise first worked with NCCEH as a student and then part-time contractor in 2003 during the organization's beginning years. Denise became the organization's first staff and director in 2004, establishing an office in Raleigh. Denise grew the organization's team and impact over her tenure, improving North Carolina's response to homelessness through strengthened infrastructure and governance, increased funding, improved policy, innovated interventions and practice, and a bold vision.

NCCEH News Flash 7.29.20Recently the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), proposed a concerning rule about shelter access for transgender and gender-nonconforming individuals. This rule would remove critical protections meant to ensure the safety of any transgender or gender-nonconforming person in need of HUD-funded programs - especially emergency shelters.
