Our Mission
NCCEH upholds human dignity by pursuing justice and engaging innovative partnerships to end homelessness in North Carolina.
Our Strategic Plan
Convening & Collaborating for Change

STRENGTHEN OUR FOUNDATION
By developing our Board, streamlining administrative and operational procedures, improving employee engagement, and contributing to a comprehensive, equitable, statewide, data-driven homeless response system.

INCREASE DIVERSITY AND REPRESENTATION
Both within NCCEH and throughout NC by building relationships to amplify and center the voices of people with lived experience of homelessness, promoting the use of and advocacy through HMIS, and recruiting a diverse Board.

EXPAND OUR IMPACT AND ENGAGEMENT
By diversifying revenue streams to sustain and create new initiatives; building bridges with stakeholders across NC; and advocating for legislation supporting evidence-based best practices to end homelessness.

NCCEH is co-sponsoring the launch of Diane Nilan’s book, “The Three Melissas”! Diane is the founder/president of HEAR US. Her mission is to give voice to the 7 million+ children and youth living in cars and shelters, on the streets, or “doubled up” with other families. She has written 3 books on homelessness: Crossing the Line—Taking Steps to End Homelessness, Changing the Paradigm of Homelessness, and Dismazed and Driven—My Look at Family Homelessness in America. Nilan teamed up with a longtime North Carolina colleague, Diana Bowman, founder and former director of the National Center for Homeless Education, to compile a guidebook for parents experiencing homelessness: The Three Melissas—The Practical Guide to Surviving Family Homelessness. The event will take place September 18, 2024 starting at 5:30 PM. Please see more details and register for the event here.
