Biography

Mira graduated from Elon University in 2022 with a Bachelor's in Public Health Studies, focusing on sociocultural aspects, and minors in Poverty, Social Justice, and Human Service Studies. She is deeply committed to addressing health disparities and advocating for marginalized communities, particularly in her hometown of Durham, NC. After graduation, Mira joined the Environmental Protection Agency's Office of Research and Development as a contractor, where she supported research on the Integrated Science Assessments (ISA) of lead (Pb), nitrogen oxides (NOx), and the EPA’s Third Triennial Report to Congress on Biofuels. Additionally, she reviewed and revised standard operating procedures (SOPs) to improve efficiency, prepared briefing materials for the division's leadership, facilitated collaboration between project teams and provided weekly budget updates to ensure the effective use of resources. Mira began working as a Project Assistant with NCCEH in November 2024 and is very excited about what's to come in the future!

When she is not working, Mira enjoys spending time with her dog, Benito, her rabbit, Baby Bunny, playing video games, such as Sims 4 and Fortnite, and spending quality time with friends and family.
