In order to be accepted to participate in this training, you must first complete the training application form: Fill out Application Form Online

Please note, completing an application does not guarantee you a spot in the training. Your application will be reviewed and SOAR staff will contact you within 2 days of submission.

Workshop Highlights:

  • An in-depth, step-by-step explanation of the SSI/SSDI application and disability determination process
  • Strategies for working with homeless persons with serious mental illness and co-occurring disorders – only a fraction of this population receives the benefits to which they are entitled
  • Exercises and worksheets provide practical application tools
  • Samples and explanations of SSA and DDS paperwork and necessary reports

This call is for providers of permanent housing in the Balance of State CoC.  The Permanent Housing Committee meets quarterly on the third Tuesday of the month.

On Tuesday, August 16, at 2 pm ET the National Alliance to End Homelessness will hold the first in a series of webinars on rapid re-housing. Staff from the Alliance's Center for Capacity Building will cover core components of rapid re-housing, strategies for overcoming housing barriers and working with landlords, and housing stabilization strategies. The webinar will also include a question and answer period. Space is limited, so please register soon.
