The Homelessness Resource Center (HRC) and Projects for Assistance in Transition from Homelessness (PATH) is offering a FREE two day regional training on innovative strategies for providing homeless services and creating environments that are person-centered, trauma-informed, and recovery-oriented for the Southeastern United States.

This training will be applicable to anyone providing homeless services including direct service providers, consumers, administrators, government staff, and policy makers. We extend a special invitation to the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Service Administration's (SAMHSA) PATH and Services in Supportive Housing (SSH) grantees in the region surrounding Columbia, S.C.

Trainees will include national experts from the Homelessness Resource Center and its partners at the Center for Social Innovation and the National Center on Family Homelessness.

Participants can expect:
  • To develop and understanding of a person-centered, trauma-informed and recovery-oriented model of care
  • To explore strategies of self-care and to experience a sense of renewal and rejuvenation
  • To learn practical skills in the areas of accessing and providing permanent supportive housing, motivational interviewing, creating trauma-informed care for families and individuals who are homeless, and ensuring consumers' voices in the design and delivery of homeless services
  • PATH grantees can also expect data reporting and collection guidance and tools for interpreting outcomes
