Description

The National Alliance to End Homelessness will provide a full day of learning, interactive activities, discussion, and sharing of best practices to set the stage for the Learning Collaborative.  The agenda will include the following topics:

  • The Role of Emergency Shelter in an Effective Crisis Response System
  • A Data Snapshot and trends about emergency shelters in Southern Nevada
  • National research about shelter utilization
  • Improving System Flow with Low-barrier and Housing-focused shelter practices
  • The 5 Keys to Effective Emergency Shelter practices
    • Housing First Approach
    • Safe and Appropriate Diversion
    • Low-barrier and Immediate Access
    • Housing-focused Services
    • Data to Measure Performance

  • Homeless service provider staff (RRH, TH, PSH, Outreach)
  • Continuum of Care Leadership and Governance Members
  • Funders
  • Stakeholders interested in understanding the role of shelter in the system and how to support the work of emergency shelter providers
