Asheville/Buncombe Homeless Prevention Funds Stakeholder Meeting

Description
Through the Economic Recovery and Reinvestment Act, the City of Asheville has been designated to monitor and dispense just over $509,460 in Homeless Prevention Funds over the next 2-3 years.
- Homeless Prevention Funds are expected to be designated to provide prevention and rapid re-housing using housing location services, flexible financial assistance, short-term or medium-term rental assistance, case management, housing stabilization, outreach and data collection.
- HUD will announce the details for Homeless Prevention Funds within the next two weeks. Applications for spending the funds will subsequently be due to HUD within 30-60 days.

All interested parties are invited to participate in this meeting, including decision makers and community agencies interested in understanding how the funding can be used in our community. This meeting will review guidelines issued by the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) related to the Homeless Prevention Funds awarded to the City of Asheville. Information about how to learn about other housing-related funds associated with the Reinvestment and Recovery Act will be available.
