Biography
Adriana is a 2021 graduate from UNC Chapel Hill, where she received her B.A. in Journalism. She has previously interned at the North Carolina Coalition Against Sexual Assault and World Relief Durham, a non-profit serving refugees. Adriana was born and raised outside of Charlotte, NC in the small town of Waxhaw. She is a first-generation American whose family emigrated from El Salvador in 1997. In 2019, Adriana traveled to Israel as a student photojournalist to cover the Huqoq Excavation Project (an ancient 5th-century Jewish village) and has always had an interest in writing and public policy. Adriana is passionate about serving her community and seeks to help create a safer, more equitable world. She has volunteered as a mentor to elementary students in underserved communities in Chapel Hill and worked as a camp counselor. Adriana loves reading, her kittens Berry & Junie, and is a forever Tar Heel and Caniac.
