Emergency Solutions Grants Program
The Homeless Emergency Assistance and Rapid Transition to Housing Act of 2009 (HEARTH Act) amended the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act, including major revisions to the Emergency Shelter Grants program, now the Emergency Solutions Grants (ESG) program.
The 2012 NC ESG application was the first one under the revised program rules. Materials from that application and from the discussions about changes to the NC state ESG program have been archived here.
The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is administering the ESG non-entitlement funds throughout North Carolina. Information about the most current ESG application can be found on our ESG application page.
